Prince Edward Island holds largest immigration draw of the year
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has conducted its largest immigration draw of the year, inviting close to 200 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
Candidates working in the province were prioritized for invitations, with additional consideration given to French-speaking candidates and international graduates.

The PEI PNP issued 190 invitations through its Labour & Express Entry category, in the largest immigration draw that the province has held this year so far.
Candidates working in priority occupations, and those who spoke French, were invited to apply based on their potential economic impact on the province. In particular, candidates working for a PEI employer, and international graduates from the following Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) were prioritized for invitation:
The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI);
Holland College; and
Collège de L’îlle.
Throughout 2025, the PEI PNP has issued invitations for provincial nomination exclusively through its Labour and Express Entry category, issuing invitations primarily to those already working in the province or international graduates.
The last scheduled draw of the year will be on December 18
PEI’s PNP is unique among all economic immigration programs in Canada in that the province provides a schedule of anticipated ITA issuances throughout the year.
The November 20 draw marks the second-last draw that PEI has scheduled this year, with the very last draw set for December 18.
It should be noted that the province has also held one extra draw, outside the scope of its ITA schedule, on October 27. While it is possible that the province may hold yet another unplanned draw before the end of the year, this remains to be seen.
How the PEI Expression of Interest (EOI) system works
The PEI PNP uses an EOI system to rank candidates who are most likely to support the province’s economy and labour market. This system evaluates profiles using several selection factors, including the following:
Language: proficiency in English or French
Education: level, field of study, and location of education
Skill and work experience: connection to in-demand sectors
Strategic priorities: how well the profile matches PEI’s current labour market needs
Employment prospects: elements such as having a valid job offer in PEI and/or prior Canadian work experience
Candidates who achieve high EOI scores and show strong potential to settle successfully in the province are more likely to receive an invitation to apply for nomination.
