Newfoundland and Labrador invites 208 candidates in provincial immigration draw
On August 10, Newfoundland and Labrador held its 10th draw of the year, issuing 208 invitations for provincial immigration.
Invitations were issued to candidates through two programs: the Newfoundland Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) did not provide a specific breakdown as to which NLPNP stream(s) candidates were invited under.
Under the province’s Expression of Interest (EOI) prioritization framework, candidates may receive preference based on factors such as employment in healthcare, sales and service, rural communities, and occupations with lower representation.
This draw recorded the lowest number of AIP invitations issued since June 10.

As of August 10, Newfoundland and Labrador has issued a combined 2,197 invitations through the NLPNP and AIP, with 84.2% going to NLPNP candidates.
How the consideration process works for the NLPNP and N&L AIP
A valid job offer is required under both programs, except for individuals pursuing permanent residence through the NLPNP’s entrepreneur streams.
To be considered for the NLPNP or N&L AIP, foreign nationals must submit an EOI through the province’s Immigration Accelerator Portal.
In the EOI, candidates provide details about their education, employment history, language proficiency, and plans to establish themselves in the province; these profiles are then entered into the EOI pool to be considered in future draws.
The N&L OIM reviews EOI submissions and periodically conducts provincial immigration draws, inviting the highest-ranking candidates to submit an application—for nomination (NLPNP) or endorsement (AIP).

After an invitation is issued, those invited must respond within 60 days. Under the NLPNP, the employer submits the application, whereas for the AIP, it is the candidate’s responsibility.
After a candidate has received their certificate of nomination or their endorsement, they may apply to the federal government for permanent residence. The federal immigration department will process their application and issue a confirmation of permanent residence (COPR) if their application is approved.

EOIs remain valid in Newfoundland and Labrador’s candidate pool for 12 months, after which they expire. Candidates who are not invited during that time must re-submit their profile (or for the AIP, have their employer do so) to remain under consideration.
