Canada invites 2,000 skilled workers to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued more invitations to apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system.

The immigration department issued 2,000 ITAs in a draw for Canadian Experience Class candidates.

To be considered in this draw, candidates needed to have:

  • A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 519; and
  • Created an Express Entry candidate profile before 12:16 a.m., Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on March 26, 2026.

Applicants in Canada who are pursuing permanent residence through Express Entry have the opportunity to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).

If their existing work permit expires before their BOWP application is finalized, they will benefit from maintained status, allowing them to continue working under the same conditions as their current work permit—provided they remain in Canada.

Eligible family members of the applicant may also be able to apply for a BOWP.
