Alberta invites workers in healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture to apply for provincial nomination

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has extended a total of 743 invitations to apply for provincial nomination to AAIP candidates working in sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture.

The AAIP issued these invitations over the course of seven provincial immigration draws over the period of June 5–June 15, 2026.

Draw summary

In its latest series of draws, the AAIP issued invitations through the following streams and pathways, three of which targeted healthcare workers:

• Alberta Opportunity Stream;
• Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – Express Entry;
• Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – non-Express Entry;
• Rural Renewal Stream; and
• Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors pathway.
  • Priority sectors targeted included healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing.

The greatest share of invitations was issued through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, accounting for about 62.2% of all invites.

Cutoff scores and number of invitations issued varied by draws:

Alberta’s June 8–June 15 selections directly align with its “highest priorities for 2026,” which include health care, manufacturing, agriculture, and Rural Renewal Stream invitations.

The June 11 health care and June 12 agriculture Priority Sector draws were each the third of their kind in 2026.

As of its latest draw date (June 15), the province has issued no fewer than 8,453 to apply for provincial nomination in 2026.

The AAIP’s provincial nomination figures

The federal government was granted a nomination allocation of 6,403 nominations in 2026.

As of June 16 (the date of AAIP’s last webpage update), Alberta has used 2,869 of its nomination slots, leaving 3,534 remaining.

Alberta has also used nomination spaces outside its regular PNP allocation to attract targeted groups, including 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 francophone candidates.

Expressions of Interest and applications awaiting processing

The province also provides a stream-specific breakdown of the number of worker expressions of interest (WEOIs) and nomination applications currently it has in its inventory.

As of June 16, Alberta had 38,353 WEOIs in its pool. The Alberta Opportunity Stream made up about 63.1% of that total; 1,536 provincial nomination applications were listed as awaiting processing.
