Manitoba invites skilled workers recruited through targeted initiatives to apply for provincial nomination

On August 13, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 53 invitations to apply through both pathways of its Skilled Worker Stream.

The province targeted candidates who’d been directly invited by the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative.

The province’s 2026 draw count now stands at 16 following this latest selection round.

Draw details

The MPNP issued invitations across both its Skilled Worker pathways, targeting candidates in Manitoba as well as those overseas.

To qualify for consideration, candidates had to specify in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile that they had been invited through either a recruitment mission or the now-expired Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Candidates (TPP).

Candidates invited through the Employer Services initiative received the largest share of LAAs, accounting for 28.3% of the total issued:

Strategic recruitment initiative LAAs issued
Employer Services 15
Francophone Community 13
Ethnocultural Communities 12
Regional Communities 9
Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) 4

Six of the 53 LAAs issued in the draw went to candidates who had declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

As of August 13, the province has issued a total of 4,875 invitations to apply for provincial nomination through its Skilled Worker Stream.

Why eligible candidates may not have received an LAA

The province noted that some MPNP candidates who appeared to satisfy the draw requirements may not have received an LAA if one of the following applied:

  • The candidate indicated an approved English or French language test in their EOI profile, but provided a missing or invalid test identification number, or their results had expired; or
  • The candidate declared that they had been invited through a strategic recruitment initiative, but did not provide a valid invitation number.

The MPNP tracks Skilled Worker Stream (SWS) activity through monthly reports covering several stages of the nomination process, including:
