Manitoba invites 77 skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination in latest selection round

On July 2, Manitoba issued more invitations to apply through its Skilled Worker Stream, to candidates directly invited by the province under a strategic recruitment initiative.

A total of 77 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued through this draw.

This selection round was the 13th conducted by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) in 2026.

Draw results

The MPNP invited candidates through both of its Skilled Worker Stream pathways:

To qualify for consideration, candidates needed to declare in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile that they had been invited through a recruitment mission—or the now-expired Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Candidates (TPP).

The greatest share of LAAs were issued to MPNP candidates invited through the Employer Services initiative (46.8%), followed by the TPP (40.3%).

Below is the full breakdown of the LAA distribution by strategic recruitment initiative:

Strategic recruitment initiative Invitations
Employer Services 36
*Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) 31
Francophone Community 8
Regional Communities 2

Of the 77 LAAs issued in this selection round, 15 went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

The province noted some candidates may not have been selected in the July 2 draw, despite appearing to meet the draw criteria, if either of the following applied:

  • The candidate listed an approved third-party English or French language test in their EOI profile, but the test identification number was missing or invalid, or the results had expired; or
  • The candidate indicated that they had been invited through a strategic recruitment initiative but failed to include a valid invitation number.

*On May 1, the province announced plans to hold targeted EOI draws for individuals who received Support Letters under the TPP, beginning with those approved between April 22 and June 30, 2025.

Since that announcement, the province has issued 579 invitations to individuals with Support Letters under the TPP, with 74.1% issued in the first draw that followed (May 7).

As of July 2, the MPNP has issued 1,910 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in 2026.

Manitoba was granted 6,239 nominations by the federal government this year. By May 30, the province had nominated 2,165 skilled workers, according to figures released by the Government of Manitoba.

The discrepancy between invitations issued and approved nomination likely reflects carryover from last year, with some approved nominations linked to LAAs issued in 2025.
